People for Earth creates cultural and artistic endeavors to actualize an ecological lifestyle. Through encounters and expressions in diverse art forms such as theater, poetry, music, cinema, dance, and design, we hope to reawaken our life sensibility and embody the original form of life. Art for Earth offers a chance to re-evaluate the relationship between humans and the earth through a new type of narrative and redefines and creates ecological art through a variety of art creation initiatives.
2022 Exhibition 〈Companion Earth〉
〈반려지구-Companion Earth〉 was the final exhibition in a series of projects hosted jointly by People for Earth and various artists part of the Korean Art Welfare Foundation’s (KAWF) 2022 Artist Dispatch Support programme.
“Beyond the present struggle between the climates, beyond the history of man
The thirteen billion eight hundred years becomes the perennial history of the universe
It becomes a story of cosmic time that penetrates my existence.
The universe in my soul expands at a speed beyond light, without stop.
It is eternally labored and pained, at least before the consciousness of life awakened.
I see the wonderful creations of life.
Everything that surrounds me, the Earth.”
The exhibition 〈반려지구_Companion Earth〉 explores the story of our planet and invites us to reflect on mankind’s relationship with it. As we extend our point of view to a global perspective, we all eventually come to realize that all of our companions, are part of the Earth. The lives of all the things that surround us, from creation to dissipation, is part of an amazing generational tale that the Earth tells us. A tale incredibly complex and diverse.
"Life blooms from seeds discarded as trash,
Spring returns across the river of eternal extinction”
Lend an ear to Earth’s stories, and begin to conceive your life in its intricate net. A net which guides our relationship into broader and deeper state of mind.
Our companion Earth.
Even before the first conscious mind awakened, Earth held countless stories to tell,
Teling tales that always presented a Vision.
Earth will always be where future generations come to call as home.
And they will be pioneers of a world where Earth and humans coexist.
Through harmonious organization between film, theater, visual arts, and music, this exhibition aims to explore mankind’s relationship with Earth in new ways and present a shift in diverse perceptions. We believe that these shifts in perception will bring forth more strength to confront the intricacies and complexities of our own life processes.
