In 2020 we conducted a research study in collaboration with the Universities of Sienna, Bologna and Salento for the European Economic and Social Committee looking into the feasibility of a Fundamental EU Charter for the Rights of Nature. We proposed an integrated model that integrates the rights of Nature, people and economy with the Planetary Boundaries and the SDGs so that all life on earth can have a thriving future. This essay sets out the main points of our proposal.
