Earth Jurisprudence Lecture Series

The ‘Earth Jurisprudence’ (EJ) Lecture Series, introducing Earth Jurisprudence in Korea, is aimed at finding solutions to resolve the harmful consequences, which come from the current human-centered industrialization, and to implement an environment favorable to research and the fostering of new abilities. Since 2015, lecture series has been held four times a year in partnership with the Pro Bono Center of One Law Partners. This lecture series constitutes a training program for judicial officers, lawyers and law-students, and is accredited by the Korean Bar Association (KBA) and responsible for playing important roles in transforming governance-systems.

This year’s four Earth Jurisprudence lecture was held on December 3rd at Seoul Bar Association’s Education and Culture Center given by Seonho Choe. Choe was invited to give a lecture with the title of “Ecological Crisis and Earth Jurisprudence”. Choe is Attorney at Law, Director of Thomas Berry Legacy Lecture of People for Earth and a member of Ecological Environment Committee of Catholic Church of Korea. During the lecture Choe explained what was happening in our common home Earth today, why we were not responding it appropriately to such a life-damaging phenomenon and how the international community coped with the crisis.
