  • [Fourth Yujae Special Lecture] by Mr. Chang-dong Lee (June 11, 2019) The fourth Yujae Special Lecture held on June 11th was given by a movie director, Chang-dong Lee with the title of “Burning, the World with Full of Ambiguity”. “Burning (2018)” directed, produced and co-written by Chang-dong Lee is a film about three young people living independent lives. In the film, the director described the ambiguity and boundlessness of the present world through metaphor and symbolism. The audience and the director discussed the ambiguity and boundlessness of the world as well as the chaotic world we live in. Based on the short story "Barn Burning" from The Elephant Vanishes by author Haruki Murakami, the audience shared their own way of interpretation between the film and the original novel. 2019/08/09
  • [Third Yujae Special Lecture] by Dr. Dennis O’Hara (June 3, 2019) The third Yujae Special Lecture, co-organized by the Kyung Hee University Global Academy for Future Civilizations and the Thomas Berry Association of Korea, was held on June 3. The title was “Thomas Berry and the Encyclical of Pope Francis Laudato Si” (English: Praise Be to You), and the lecture was given by Dr. Dennis O’Hara, professor at the University of Toronto who was one of Thomas Berry’s students. During the lecture, Dr. O’Hara talked about how Thomas Berry’s thoughts influenced the foundation of Laudato Si, which was officially published on May 24, 2015, as well as which content should be added for the next encyclical. 2019/07/23

Dr. Negri Filho is a medical doctor from Brazil. In his lecture, he talked about Buen vivir(Sumak Kawsay the Good way of Living) - how it is applied to production and consumption and how social and environmental justice can be achieved within sustainable development.   • [First Yujae Special Lecture] by Dr. Mary Evelyn Tucker (February 12, 2019) People for Earth invited Dr. Mary Evelyn Tucker for its first Yujae Special lecture on February 12, 2019 at its new office, Yujae. Dr. Tucker and her husband Dr. John Grim carry on the legacy of Thomas Berry and are managing trustees of the Thomas Berry Foundation. Dr. Tucker is also co-founder and co-director of the Forum on Religion and Ecology at Yale and wrote “Journey of the Universe (2011)” with Dr. Brian Thomas Swimme. 2019/03/31
